Directions & notes How to take the product.

Recommended dosage

Each capsule of Melinava Liposomal Turmeric Extract provides 160 mg turmeric extract (including 64 mg curcuminoids) in a liposomal formulation totalling 400 mg.

The recommended dosage is 1 capsule daily with a glass of water, ideally with a meal (curcuminoids are fat-soluble).

Tip if you have difficulty swallowing

Put the capsule in your mouth with plenty of water and tilt your head forwards (towards your chest). This makes swallowing much easier. Alternatively, you can empty the capsule contents into a glass of water and drink it.

Note

Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Store in a cool, dry place out of reach of children. Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, or for children under 12.

If you are taking anticoagulants (blood thinners), cancer medication or immunosuppressants at the same time, please consult a healthcare professional before use. Not recommended if you have known bile duct disorders or gallstones.

Liposomes – the special technology

Our liposomal technology changes the way nutrients are absorbed by the body.

Thanks to their special structure, liposomes encase the active ingredients they contain and protect them from being broken down in the digestive tract.

This allows nutrients to be transported to where they are needed – right into the cells.

The result is increased bioavailability: a larger proportion of the active ingredient reaches the bloodstream unchanged and is actually available to the body.

Less loss, better absorption, more efficient use.

The gold of India: 5,000 years of cultural history.

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is one of the longest-cultivated plants in the world and has been deeply rooted in South Asian culture for more than 5,000 years. Even the ancient Vedic scriptures mention the ‘golden root’ as one of the most important components of Indian cuisine and food culture.

Its best-known compound, curcumin, gives the root its intense yellow-orange colour and is one of the most intensively researched natural plant compounds in modern nutritional science. More than 15,000 scientific publications on PubMed deal with curcumin, a figure that has more than quadrupled since 2010.

Melinava provides the valuable curcuminoids in a high-quality liposomal formulation, obtained from pure turmeric rhizome extract and free from piperine.

Targeted, natural, effective.

Products that make a difference.

Safe & uncompromising.

Our products are regularly put through their paces. Every single batch is carefully checked by independent laboratories to ensure that only the best finds its way to you. Our products are developed with dedication in Europe and manufactured in state-of-the-art production facilities.

Only what really counts.

Every ingredient matters to us. Each one is carefully selected and tested, and comes from controlled cultivation. Our formulations contain premium active ingredients in pure form and phospholipids from European sunflowers.

Absolutely nothing to hide.

We pay careful attention not only to which ingredients make it into our formula, but also to which ones stay out: GMO-free, no allergens, no artificial additives, soya-, gluten- and lactose-free.

The journey along the Silk Road.

In the late Middle Ages, turmeric travelled along the Silk Road from India via Central Asia to Europe. Along the way, the plant acquired the nickname “Indian saffron”, because it gives food a similarly intense colour to the far more expensive saffron.

In the Ayurvedic food tradition, turmeric has been one of the most frequently used spices for thousands of years. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), too, the root has played an important role as part of everyday cooking for generations.

The plant compounds of turmeric.

Turmeric contains a wide range of plant compounds, including curcuminoids. These bioactive compounds are part of the plant and have been used for centuries in the traditional diet of South Asia. Melinava provides these natural plant compounds in a high-quality liposomal form.

Liposomal formulations have the advantage of offering higher bioavailability than conventional food supplements. Curcumin, the main component of turmeric, has one of the lowest oral bioavailabilities of any natural plant compound: it barely dissolves in water, is rapidly broken down in the stomach and quickly metabolised in the liver.

That is why many conventional products combine turmeric with piperine (black pepper), which, however, can irritate the stomach in sensitive people and interact with certain medications. The liposomal shell surrounds the curcuminoids with a protective phospholipid layer and carries them more efficiently through the digestive tract, without any piperine. As a result, a smaller amount of liposomal curcumin can supply the body more effectively than much larger amounts in conventional form.

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is one of the most intensively researched plant compounds in modern nutritional science and has been part of Ayurvedic food culture for over 5,000 years. Many people take turmeric extract as a supplement, particularly as part of:

  • A deliberate intake of natural curcuminoids as part of a plant-rich diet
  • An active, nutrition-conscious lifestyle
  • A golden-milk-inspired routine in concentrated, caffeine-free form
  • A focus on overall wellbeing in everyday life

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a tropical plant from the ginger family that has been used in Indian cooking and food culture for over 5,000 years. The plant forms underground rhizomes (rootstocks), which are known for their intense yellow-orange colour and are used as a spice and natural colouring. Turmeric is a key ingredient in curry blends and gives many South Asian dishes their characteristic colour. Its best-known constituent is curcumin, which, together with demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin, forms the group of curcuminoids. Today, curcumin is one of the most intensively researched natural plant compounds in the world.
