Recommended dosage

Liposomes – the special technology

Our liposomal technology changes the way nutrients are absorbed by the body.

Thanks to their special structure, liposomes encase the active ingredients they contain and protect them from being broken down in the digestive tract.

This allows nutrients to be transported to where they are needed – right into the cells.

The result is increased bioavailability: a larger proportion of the active ingredient reaches the bloodstream unchanged and is actually available to the body.

Less loss, better absorption, more efficient use.

Every batch lab-tested

Nature's red pigment.

Lycopene is the bright red plant compound that gives tomatoes, watermelons and papayas their intense colour. As a carotenoid, it is one of the most intensively researched natural plant compounds.

In the plant, lycopene performs a special task: it shields the tomato from UV radiation and oxidative stress and is the plant's natural response to intense sunlight. It is precisely this property that makes lycopene one of the most characteristic components of the Mediterranean diet, in which sun-ripened tomatoes have played a central role for centuries.

As lycopene is fat-soluble, our capsules deliver this plant compound in a high-quality liposomal form. This means you can take it without needing a fatty meal.

Targeted, natural, effective.

Products that make a difference.

Safe & uncompromising.

Our products are regularly put through their paces. Every single batch is carefully checked by independent laboratories to ensure that only the best finds its way to you. Our products are developed with dedication in Europe and manufactured in state-of-the-art production facilities.

Only what really counts.

Every ingredient matters to us. Each one is carefully selected and tested, and comes from controlled cultivation. Our formulations contain premium active ingredients in pure form and phospholipids from European sunflowers.

Absolutely nothing to hide.

We pay careful attention not only to which ingredients make it into our formula, but also to which ones stay out: GMO-free, no allergens, no artificial additives, soya-, gluten- and lactose-free.

Lycopene benefits: what the tomato reveals about the molecule.

Carotenoids are phytochemicals, a large group of natural pigments found in plants, algae and microorganisms. Over 600 different carotenoids are known in nature. Lycopene is one of the most remarkable of them.

In tomatoes, lycopene performs a crucial biological function: it protects plant cells from oxidative stress caused by intense sunlight and UV radiation. This natural protective function in the plant is why sun-ripened tomatoes have the highest lycopene content.

Lycopene is also a natural component of the human body and is obtained from the diet mainly through tomatoes, watermelons and similar fruits, especially when they are prepared with fat.

What is lycopene good for?

Lycopene is one of those plant compounds that the human body cannot produce itself. A balanced diet should therefore form the basis for getting enough natural carotenoids.

Sun-ripened tomatoes, tomato purée, watermelon, papaya and pink grapefruit are particularly rich in lycopene. Interestingly, lycopene is more bioavailable from cooked tomatoes than from raw ones, which is why Mediterranean cuisines such as Italian, Spanish and Greek have, without meaning to, developed a particularly lycopene-rich food tradition over the centuries.

With Melinava Liposomal Lycopene, you get this carotenoid, with its long tradition, in a pure, highly concentrated and liposomally protected form, as a mindful addition to a balanced diet.

Questions and answers.

Lycopene is a naturally occurring carotenoid that gives plants their red colour and is found in particularly high amounts in tomatoes, watermelons and pink grapefruit. It belongs to the group of plant compounds known as phytochemicals and is one of more than 600 carotenoids known in nature. Lycopene is also a natural component of the human body and enters it mainly through the diet.

Lycopene is a fat-soluble carotenoid from the family of secondary plant compounds and has traditionally been a key part of Mediterranean diets. Many people take it as a mindful addition to their diet, particularly as part of:

  • An active, balanced lifestyle
  • A mindful approach to longevity and vitality
  • A nutritional philosophy inspired by the Mediterranean tradition
  • A targeted supply of natural carotenoids from the age of 40
  • General wellbeing in everyday life

Liposomal formulations have the advantage of higher bioavailability than conventional food supplements. Lycopene is also found in fruit and vegetables, but in its raw state the body can barely use it. The reason: only heat and, above all, fat release the lycopene and make it absorbable. Liposomal lycopene is packaged in tiny fat bubbles, so the body can utilise it without a meal. The active ingredient passes directly into the bloodstream, from where it can be transported into the cells.

Melinava Lycopene should ideally be stored in a cool (below 25°C), dry place, protected from light.

Yes! It contains no animal components or ingredients whatsoever, so it is perfectly suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Experiences with food supplements vary from person to person, depending on factors such as age, diet, lifestyle and dosage. Many users report an improved sense of general wellbeing after several weeks of regular use. To maintain your lycopene intake over the long term, we recommend taking it continuously for at least 4–8 weeks.

Within the recommended dosage, lycopene is well tolerated by adults and can also be taken over a longer period. In very high doses, it can in rare cases cause mild digestive discomfort or a harmless, temporary yellowish tint to the skin.

Not suitable for infants, children and adolescents or for pregnant or breastfeeding women. If you are taking prescription medication, we recommend consulting a healthcare professional before use.
