Recommended dose
Melinava Liposomal Maca Root is a high-strength formula, with 160 mg of maca root extract per daily dose.
The recommended dose is one capsule daily, swallowed whole with a glass of water.

Tip if you have difficulty swallowing
Put the capsule in your mouth with plenty of water and tilt your head forwards (chin towards your chest). This makes it much easier to swallow. Alternatively, you can empty the contents of the capsule into a glass of water and drink it.

Note
Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Store in a cool, dry place and keep out of reach of children.

Liposomes – the special technology

Our liposomal technology changes the way nutrients are absorbed by the body.

Thanks to their special structure, liposomes encase the active ingredients they contain and protect them from being broken down in the digestive tract.

This allows nutrients to be transported to where they are needed – right into the cells.

The result is increased bioavailability: a larger proportion of the active ingredient reaches the bloodstream unchanged and is actually available to the body.

Less loss, better absorption, more efficient use.

A secret of the Incas.

The maca plant, also known as ‘Peruvian ginseng’, is native to the Peruvian Andes. For thousands of years, it has been valued there for its nutritional and traditional uses. Maca is particularly known for its high content of nutrients, vitamins and minerals.

Since the time of the Incas – over 2,000 years ago – maca has been regarded as a source of strength and vitality. To this day, it is one of South America's most important medicinal plants and foods and remains an integral part of the local culture and way of life.

Targeted, natural, effective.

The power root for more strength and stamina.

At the extreme altitudes of the Andes, where the body is under particular strain, the nutrient-rich roots of the maca plant have always been considered a valuable source of energy. There they are traditionally used as a staple food to boost strength, stamina and resilience.

Ancient legends tell how Inca warriors fortified themselves with maca before their battles – as a symbol of strength, endurance and physical performance.

Wellbeing starts from within.

Maca is regarded as a botanical treasure from the Peruvian Andes. One of the best-known uses of maca root is to support libido and fertility. Even the Incas valued maca as a natural aphrodisiac and traditionally used it to strengthen reproductive vigour.

Modern research also suggests that maca root may have a positive influence on general wellbeing and on libido-related functions. Maca thus combines thousands of years of tradition with a contemporary interest in natural balance.

Adaptogens for greater resilience.

Maca is considered a true survivor and is valued as a natural adaptogen. Adaptogenic plants are able to adapt to challenging environmental conditions, which reduces stress at cellular level.

This special property is also attributed to maca with regard to the human body. As an adaptogen, it may have a harmonising effect and support the body in coping better with stress. Stress factors such as lack of sleep, environmental influences or physical strain can challenge the body – adaptogens such as maca have a balancing effect here and can promote resilience.

Questions and answers.

Maca (Lepidium meyenii) belongs to the cress genus in the cabbage family (Brassicaceae). The maca powder used in food supplements is made from the dried and ground maca root. The roots of the maca plant are traditionally used for a wide range of health complaints, including stress, anxiety, sleep problems, lack of drive and hormonal imbalance. Maca is rich in vitamins and minerals, which may explain the many health benefits of this plant.

Maca has been valued in the Peruvian Andes for thousands of years and is traditionally used for its many potential benefits for body and mind. Maca is particularly well known for its use in managing stress. It can help to balance cortisol levels in the body, thereby helping to reduce stress and inner restlessness.

Maca is also often associated with improved sleep quality and is traditionally used to support more restful sleep. Maca is also used in weight management, as it can support metabolism and promote energy utilisation in the body.

Another key area of use for maca is hormonal balance. The root is traditionally used and valued for menstrual discomfort, in connection with fertility, for testosterone deficiency and during the menopause. This makes maca a versatile plant that offers holistic support for wellbeing.

The advantage of liposomal formulations is that they offer higher bioavailability than conventional supplements in capsule form. This is because the liposomes protect the active ingredients and can carry them intact through the digestive tract. This allows the active ingredients to enter the bloodstream faster and more effectively and be transported to where they are needed in the body.

Thanks to this increased bioavailability, liposomal supplements such as Melinava Maca Root can have a stronger effect in the body. In addition, liposomal supplements may also help reduce possible side effects, as the active ingredients are released into the digestive tract in lower concentrations, making unwanted reactions there less likely.

Melinava Maca should ideally be stored in a cool (below 25°C), dry place away from light.

Yes! It contains no animal components or ingredients whatsoever, so vegans and vegetarians can take it with complete peace of mind.

The effect of maca can vary from person to person and depends in particular on the dosage and how regularly it is taken. However, many users report noticing an effect within 6–8 weeks, especially in their perception of stress and their sleep quality.

We recommend taking maca in the morning or at midday to make the most of its stimulating, energising effect during the day.
